Jallow Transporters started because the diaspora needed a shipping partner that actually picked up the phone. We built the business around three things: customer, care, commitment.

Our story

Freight handled the way it should be personally.

Jallow Transporters was founded in Birmingham to fix a problem the Gambian and wider West African diaspora already knew too well: shipping promises that don't hold, costs that change after you've paid, and goods that go quiet somewhere between a warehouse and a port.

We started small — a handful of containers a year to Banjul, a few cargo pallets out to Conakry. As families told their families, the business grew. Today we move sea and air freight across four countries, run Moroccan tourism packages, and bring authentic Moroccan goods back to the UK on preorder.

What hasn't changed is how we work: one team, one quote, one accountable person every step of the way.

What we stand for

Customer

Real people, real conversations. You speak to someone who knows your shipment, not a call centre. We pick up the phone, we answer WhatsApp, and we follow up — because that's what you'd expect from family.

Care

Every box is handled with the same respect — whether it's a 40ft container or a single bag of kola nuts for someone's grandmother. We weigh, label, and load properly. We don't cut corners.

Commitment

If we quote you a price, that's the price. If we say it lands in week six, we mean week six. Where things slip, we'll tell you before you have to ask — and we'll fix it.
